Berlin, Germany
A few years ago I visited Berlin and a friend took me on a wonderful river boat cruise. It was the first time I saw Museum Island (Museumsinsel), which is a magnificent ensemble of five world-renowned museums.
Here are but a few legendary items which can be seen: the legendary bust of the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, the Pergamon Altar and the stunning Ishtar Gate.
Construction began in 1830 and in 1999, the Museum Island complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Also in the painting is the Berlin TV Tower, which when the sun shines in a certain way, has a surprising reflection in the shape of the cross. This is something East German communist government hated, but believers rejoiced over.
